I have a 91 Camaro rs with the 3.1L v6 port fuel injected, I'm planning on doing a 350 V8 swap in the future, now upon some research and asking some questions at various places, I've come to find out the v6 ECM is actually compatible with the V8 TPI setup. I'm planning on putting Vortec heads on the V8 as well, and I know the aftermarket industry makes a TPI intake for Vortec heads.

My question is, is it actually true? because the 2 ECM's are the same exact part number, do I need to change out the PROM inside it? splice in 2 more injector wires (one for Bank 1 the other for Bank 2 since its group/batch fired) will all the existing sensors still work as well? Or do I need an entire new harness.

You can easily add two more injectors and add a chip. Loose SD TPI chips are rare, often only had with the ECM which is basically worthless because of how common V6 ECMs are

Dont forget to rearrange the accessory connectors for the V8 serp setup

If you want a complete assembly I have a 305 TPI pullout from my 91 TA for $500. Swap a 350 long block in and use the rest. Harness/ECM, exhaust, fuel lines if you want them
