305TBI to 350TBI Swap Questions
Hey everyone,
I have plans to do a swap this weekend on my '91 Camaro with a 305TBI to a 350TBI.
I read the FAQ about this swap, but still have questions. The engine I am buying is out of a early 90's truck with rebuilt heads.
The problem is, no wiring harness, and no computer for the 350TBI. Additionally, the guy I am buying it from is unsure if the engine still has the intake and TBI on it.
I read on the FAQ that a computer from a 90's Caprice would work, but on a lot of the E-bay listings for an computer says it'll work with a 5.0L [Caprice] and a 5.7L? Is the ebay listing wrong? Could I use my original 305 computer and harness to get the 350 at least running?
If the 350 doesn't have an intake, I know I can swap the 305 intake and TBI over; but do I still need 5.7L injectors? Or is that only for the TPI engines?
Anything else I am missing? I appreciate the advice.
Thanks.

it will get it up and running. but it will run lean and constantly surge looking for an idle.
idid it im my car, you can live with it but it doesnt perform any better than the 305 you took out. dont chAnge injectors unless you have the 5.7 computer or it will run very very rich

Just swap your intake and TBI over, but yes you will need the 5.7 injectors to properly do the swap. For the computer I used one from a 1991 Firebird with a 305 TBI and Tunedperformance on here burnt me a new PROM

No need for a new wife harness either. As long as you're is good-then u can use it. You can use your ecu for 305 but as stated above have a prom but t for you.
