350 engine swap Header question
Hey im swapping this engine : part #...10067353... Into a 1986 Camaro z28, iroc-z. I know the stock shorty headers off my 305 wont fit so time to look for some new ones. I would definitely prefer mid-length or full length headers, and would really love to stay under 400 dollars. Any suggestions that meet that criteria and will fit? First time replacing headers so assume I know nothing. also any online sites that ship to canada or are located in canada you suggest for third gen parts in general besides summit racing?
Ive narrowed it down to http://www.summitracing.com/int/part...4flt/overview/ and http://www.summitracing.com/int/part...t/model/camaro please tell me your preference, as all long tubes i could find were 500$ +

First, the factory didn't use shorty headers "stock", so if you have headers, they are aftermarket. Maybe it's just semantics, but "stock" exhaust is normally referred to as "manifolds", while "headers" is typically reserved for tubular "manifolds".
Second, if your headers fit the "stock" 305, they will fit that replacement engine. Including stock exhaust manifolds.
Now, one thing that won't fit that engine is your flexplate (if your stock transmission is automatic) or flywheel (if your stock transmission is manual). '86 used one-piece rear main seal, and that engine is 2-piece rear main seal, and the mounting for the flexplate/flywheel is different between the two.
By the way, that engine is about the same HP as a stock 305. Caused by poor-flowing heads with large chambers, coupled with dished pistons, which results in low compression. Also not a very good cam. A little more torque than a stock '86 305, but about the same power.

Re: 350 engine swap Header question
Thank you for the advice. I chose to swap this engine in because it is my very first project car, and id rather build up this 350 then the 305 with over 300,000 km. to rebuild it would cost the same if not more then purchasing this crate.

The headers you linked in your original post are 1-1/2" primaries - small on a 305, too small on a 350. Look for 1-5/8" primaries at least.
You didn't say anything about building the engine up eventually, or the condition of your 305. Yes, it does make some sense to get that crate engine vs. rebuilding the 305. But, your 305 heads are a better choice for that engine than the ones that come on it. So rebuilding the heads for installation on the 350 could be considered when you get to the "build up" phase. Of course, there are plenty of better choices, depending upon where you want to go with the build.

Re: 350 engine swap Header question
I have discovered recently that many 062/906 vortec head castings only have 6 exhaust bolt holes although many have all 8 drilled and tapped.

I did say "that replacement engine". It has the 7th exhaust manifold bolt hole.
