305 TBI to 350 Carb Issues! HELP
Hello Fellow Third Geners,
So I finally to the leap and swapped from a 305 TBI to a pretty decent 350. It is a 2002 4 bolt main Vortec block, GM Fast burn heads, Lunati valve train good to .600 lift, Edelbrock Air Gap Intake, Comp Cam 252 intake 264 exhaust 113 lobe seperation. After installing everything I'm down to two issues.
First my power steering pump is over heating like crazy. It is boiling the fluid and smoking pretty bad, and i have no power steering. I didn't have this issue before the swap. I have replaced the pump and reservoir with a new one with the same result. I jacked it up left the cap off and turn the wheel left and right about ten times with he motor running, and no change.
Second my brakes are really hard. I have the brake booster hooked up to a new vacuum line to the intake.
My only thought is that it is not creating enough vacuum. Does this effect the power steering? Any help is appreciated.

How much vacuum do you have? I know my buddy rides at about 10 and his brakes blow unless his rpms are up.
Honestly I don't think iv heard of the power steering doing that. Could it be hooked up backwards or clogged up? Something to look at until someone with my intelligence on the matter I guess.
