305 to 350 swap

I have an 89 trans am that came with the 305, I was wondering what I would need to do to drop a carbureted 350 Chevy into it, I already have the 700r4 trans. Thanks

Re: Pontiac V8 Swaps

The motor will drop right and bolt to the tranny and exhaust. If you want to retain the computer, you'll need to do some work. If you want to run a wire to the distributor, and cable to the throttle lever, and bypass the computer, it'll be easier. Not sure about the electrical to your tranny, IE loc-up converter and such.

I actually did this swap a long time ago in my 89 camaro rs I had the 305 TBI and I built an old 350 I had laying around I used heads from a truck and used the same manifold and TBI bolted to my bellhousing, exhaust and used same engine mounting points even used same computer car ran great no issues till I drove it to hard and blew up the tranny. I was curious tho are u switching from TBI to carb? Also why are u making the switch to carb? If it's because of fuel you can find upgraded fuel injectors and fuel pump to match fuel needs no problem.
