auto to 5 speed
auto to 5 speed
Hello,
Me and my son have pulled the stock 305 and 700R4 auto out of his 86 IROC and we are installing a 1970 LT1 with a T5 5 speed, my question is should there be a plate between the trans and engine?
Thanks,
Fran

The bellhousing will mount directly without a plate, but be mindful of what size flywheel your engine requires (many of that era block will only accept the 168-tooth flywheel, which is not compatible with the factory T5 bellhousing.) If that is the case, you will need an aftermarket unit. Even so, no plate is necessary.
