Re: Ls1 swap
The 4.8 is closer to swap ready but it looks like a mess, who knows internal condition if the tune was off or anything of the sort. And it's still a 4.8, which while not useless, is a whole lot less desirable. Therefore overpriced.
The 5.3 on the other hand is not close to swap ready, and has blatant lie of being out an 06 Escalade (only offered 6.0's) and as a LM7 "HIGH OUTPUT". An LM7 is a garden variety 5.3.... while a great motor, nothing "HO" nor special. Unless you get the trans with it and use that trans....it's overpriced too.
Me?......I'd keep looking.

Re: Ls1 swap
You may want to price out the parts needed to put a truck motor in your car over an LS1 before you spend $1600 on one.
You're looking at $150-$200 for the oil pan, $400-500 for the accessory drive (if you get them used), and $100-$150 for a stock LS1 intake.
At least in my case, it ended up being cheaper to get an actual LS1. I found an LS1/T56 complete pull out for $2500.
