tbi with vortec heads
i have a tbi 4 bolt block atk reman with 14k miles, i got a junk vortec block with 062 heads and put them on with the flat tappet cam for right now. i plan on running a carb intake and i have a 14096242 intake but it doesnt line up at all? has anyone had experience with this intake? i wanted this motor done for the woodward dream cruise but now i just want it put together without breaking the bank, will this intake work at all? if not what is a good recommended carb intake for the tbi block with 062 heads?
thanks in advance guys.

Re: tbi with vortec heads
A quick image search makes it look like that intake is for older heads pre vortec (1996)
You need to pick a carb and get a proper vortec intake for it.
There are a lot of choices

Re: tbi with vortec heads
GMPP has long offered an Edelbrock-sourced TBI intake for Vortec heads, that Edelbrock never sold as their own, but the thing doesn't flow as well as stock L31 heads, and if you get it Extrude-honed, then the TB becomes the restriction. So get it bored to fit a TB from a TBI 454, and then the injectors are the restriction. Why go through all that, just to end up with 300 HP and TBI? The same investment will get you a Marine L31 MPEFI, or a Weiand Stealth Ram Vortec MPEFI.
If you're going to spend a grand, spend it on something that doesn't limit you to 300 HP.
