I Have a 91 RS with a 305..But I'm lookin to drop somethin bigger in there and want to put out at least 300-350 hp out of the motor itself..Or can I just beef mine up some how...So if anyone has beefed up their motor or did a swap could you let me know what was done and around what price it was for the acc. or the motor and to have it put in and stuff...And where you got the motor from....I have about 2G's to spend so anything would be a help

 

I bought a 300HP (350)Crate Motor from autocenter.com about six months ago, to replace my 215,000 mile 305 TBI motor.
It was $1855 plus shipping. This has stock TPI heads,and came with a Crane Hydraulic Roller Cam. Motor made a huge difference!
If you're swapping a 350 in place of a 305 (TBI), you'll need to change the injectors,knock sensor, knock module and the chip.
Since they never offered a manual trans 350 TBI in the Camaro,
mine required a custom chip.I got mine from Ed Wright at Fastchip.com.
Although my swap ended up costing a lot, mainly because I also installed headers,3"cat,3" cat-back exhaust,bigger throttle body,adjustable fuel pressure regulator,Edelbrock intake manifold,Accel distributor,MSD Coil and Wires, etc, this swap is very do-able for around $2000 if you shop around and just get what you need.
