Shooting for 11.50's with ET streets. Should be feasable! Not too many people will expect it from a naturally aspirated TPI car!! Trending Topics

The floating pins won't do you anything performance-wise. They exist for the big boys who need to change pistons quickly or often.
Otherwise, sounds like an awesome combo.

Pretty sweet combo. 11.5's should definitely be attainable. One question, though. Do those super comps have D-shaped flanges? Fast burn heads have D-shaped exhaust ports. Not that it would make that much difference. Just wondering...
its gonna be really hard to get into the mid 11s with a 355 with a TPI intake on it
make it a 383 and it'll be MUCH MUCH easier to do it, plus you can pick up a nice Scat cast steel crank for hardly anything these days and they're good to about 600hp

The hooker super comps are standard round flange I believe. I havent purchased them yet. They will be sent to Jet-Hot for coating when I get them.
Sorry to burst your bubble but I doubt you're gonna make 400+hp and 450ft/lbs to the rear wheels. That is a whole lot, about 480hp/540ft/lbs at the crank. I put your combo into desktop dyno and came out to about 400hp and 430ft/lbs, thats about 340hp and 370ft/lbs to the wheels. That would probably be good for mid 12s in a 3500 pound car. My graph does show a very nice semi flat torque curve from 2000-6000 though.

Desktop dyno is a great tool for checking out different cams and building carbed motors. Unfortunately, it doesnt account for (Tuned Port Injection) porting intake manifolds, large tube siamese runners, ported/siamesed upper plenum, bigger injectors, AFPR, more custom PROM tuning etc.... (All which add ponies!) Also keep in mind that roughly 90% of power created by internal combustion is wasted through heat. Which means that a 1% increase in mechanical efficiency ammounts to a 10% gain in total horse power!! (Can you say Evans cooling system!!!) It's still gonna take me awhile to finish my combo, there are still parts that I need and I still have to do the rear end swap and the six speed conversion. But I promise, you guys will be the first to know the Dyno results besides me and the shop that does the Dyno pulls!

five7kid - if you plan on charging or spraying the motor, full floating pistons are recommended. Most blower/nitrous pistons only come in floating pin.
Are you sure you want to siamese your base? I had considered it, but are you actually willing to start drilling into a 400 dollar piece of equipment? Couldn't you really screw over performance if you mess up? Or, is it easy to do? Thanks.

Any other thoughts? Anything you would change about this combo to make more power? (naturally asperated)

Porting the lower intake manifold is just as easy as porting the upper plenum, just use a high speed die-grinder with a carbide steel bit. I done some stuff to make the car lighter. Heres a few tricks: remove spare tire, inflator, jack, remove carpet to remove the sound deadener and juke, reinstall carpet only (and yet there is lighter carpet you can buy, 4th gen cloth seats are lighter than 3rd gen seats. All that is good for at least one 10th in the quarter and is well over 100lbs of fat that you can trim off of the car! My cd player is 2lbs lighter than the factory radio (I know, big deal) but everything adds up. Gasoline weighs 8 or so lbs per gallon (race with no more than 1/4 tank full). My exhaust is lighter than the factory exhaust by a little bit. I've done a few more things to the car to trim fat, just keep in mind that it all adds up. The six speed I'm installing will be lighter than the 700r4. The aluminum parts on the new motor, like the heads, water pump, etc... will drop several pounds. Do all that to you car and she wont be a fat lady anymore! Oh, and if TPIS says there will be a gain by siamesing the SDPC intake, then I'll port it out no problem, it costs money to go fast dont be scared to grind on expensive parts if it means going faster!
