Not sure if this is the right place or not, and I have searched and read, but really havn't found the right information. I have 2 suburbans, one is a 97, the other one is a 99. The 97 needs a set of heads, and the 99 needs an engine. I have 2 vortec short blocks. I have 2 full tpi set-ups. I want to install these tpi setups on the vortec blocks, and retain the vortec computers. As far as programming and such, what would I have to do? If anyone knows of links to this type of swap, if you would be so kind as to post them I would appreciate it. If this is in the wrong section, please move it. Thank you everyone, William.

 

Might want to check on the truck boards and see what people customarily do when they make the poppet -> port injector upgrade. You're asking about basically the same thing. The shape of the metal doesn't matter to that, beyond just making sure the harness reaches where the parts end up and that kind of thing. TPI is no different, as far as programming, from any other port injection system, except that you never have to worry about high RPMs or making lots of power or any of that good stuff that we would all prefer to have to be worried about.

 

put the Vortec heads on the tpi motor, or put the tpi stuff on the vortec motor, either way you need the special tpi lower base manifold made by scoggin dickey to use tpi with vortec heads.
