well i have a 91 camaro tbi car and just swapped a 2001 4.8 into it. 700r4 trans. the 4.8 is all stock intake, accessories everything. everything fits nice under my 4" cowl hood. well im almost done and ready to start the car soon.
ive gotten most my info from lt1 swap and had him unlock the computer

a diagram would make the worlds diffence
some things i need help with...
not sure about the key on switch/ plug on the firewall. ive poked around with my multimeter yet im still a little confused.

first up i have a 2 thick red wires one bigger than the other then a pink and a purple wire. can anyone tell me about these. which go to the starter. the reds and purple look long enough to reach the battery. i know thats not right and cant remember how i took them off. i think the pink is key on?

next my speedometer.
i have a yellow and purple wire that goes to this wirewall plug to the 700r4 speed sensor and i think i saw/read that a grey wire is speed output. my 411 pcm has a green and purple for the speed sensor with a different conector and it also has a vss output wire.
how am i to wire this up? do i get rid of the original purple and yellow and wire up the 411 to it? and some light about these output wires would help if if i quite simply connect them up

then lastly i need to figure out what to do for my throttle and tv cable. does anyone make a bracket able kit that fits the truck intake style stuff

thanks for any help

the 2 thick red wires and the pink go to the main starter lug with the positive battery cable. the purple is the starter solenoid.

you need to wire the vss output from the 700r4 to the purple/grn vss wires, the output from the pcm will feed your speedometer if it's electronic

I don't think a pink wire should be connected to any power source. On my car ('89 Firebird) the 12 gauge PINK wire was power source for the ignition coil. It doesn't get used with LS swap unless you want to repurpose it for some kind of switched power source (key on).

thanks guys!!!!! that helped quite a bit.

question about the speed sensor. can i just put a newer sensor it that fits the plug? or do i need to keep the same 700r4 sensor. i ask cause my speedo rarely ever worked and i planned on putting a new sensor in anyways.

i've tried searching, mainly comes up with rear end strength and how much hp in a convertible. I am inheriting a 1984 Camaro z28 with a 383 stroker, but i would much rather a LS motor. whats the hp limit of the body do you think.
