Questions and suggestions about swapping a older l98 into a 91 rs
So I have a l98 from a 88 iroc with its older computer and harness and a 6 speed from a 95z. Swapping into a 91 rs with a 305 5 speed. My question is would I be better off using my tbi harness and finding a speed density computer or just use the older computer and harness?Anyone due a similar swap? have some tips?

You'll need to use the L98 harness and it'll be easier to use its ECM as well.

That would take a lot of work to make an '88 harness work on a'91

I'd either find a 91 TPI harness, mod the TBI harness, or find a 3.1L harness and mod it. Of course all of these options mean sourcing a 7730 ecm and the TPI memcal, which isn't easy to come by.

You can allways get the memcal reprogrammed if it’s for a automatic.
As long as it’s not all spliced that’s a great deal for the harness and ecm.
Being from a bird some of the connections might be short like the ccp.
