5.3 with 4l80 swap.
Hey everyone!
First time poster here. I'm swapping my built 5.3 into my '88 gta. With the 4l80 shoved in it. I got 90% of the swap figured out. The biggest problem I'm running into is the shift cable!
I have long tube headers the 3rd gen lsx headers from speed engineering (great fit and looks, highly reccomend for the price) but anyway with the shifter cable. I have the stock shifter and the stock cable. The 4l80 is the size of the tunnel and my stock shifter bracket on it hits the body and also if I try and flip around it will run into exhaust and wont clear oil pan on trans. So my question is I'm not the first guy doing this I can't find any good pictures of what other guys are doing and I need some help with this shifter I've been stuck on it for days.
thanks everyone!

Hawk's, eh hem, actually has a useful piece to put the shift cable up above the exhaust and oil pan lip: http://www.hawksmotorsports.com/82-9...cable-bracket/
I recommend an aftermarket cable (stock is on last legs, but keep it): https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tran...ml#post5790876
