Fuel pump knocking, pressure gauge pulsing
Hey guys I swapped my 86 Trans Am 305tpi to a 383 carb. I kept the stock tpi pump and used the Mallory pressure regulator. I have the pump wired to come on with the key.
When I turn the key on engine off, the fuel pump has a steady knock like someone is lightly knocking on the tank consistently and the pressure gauge on the Mallory pulses with each knock between 4psi and 6psi. There’s not a single leak and I am getting fuel to the carb. I have braided line running from the stock fuel lines to the regulator mounted on the shock tower so I don’t think I’m getting any pulses from the line. Any ideas? Thanks
