Older 350
Older 350
Hey fam, just finished bolting in my older 350 truck motor in my OG crossfire car and have a few questions. This is my first swap and I am trying to hook everything up. First off what do I need to strip off the wiring harness. Everything is unplugged and a mess, I have no Idea where to start with the harness. The trans im using is a 2004r and i am confused on how to hook up/adjust the kickdown cable. Also don't know how to hook up the oil pressure gauge and don't want to make a mess on the first start up. Everything is just about ready to go I'm eager to fire this bad boy up.

Should be several discrete harnesses under the hood. You'll want to get rid of one totally and keep the others. They are:
The "engine" proper: starter, alternator, gauges, batt supply
HVAC: blower, AC compressor, acoupla thin plastic vacuum lines
Body: headlights, parking lights, turn signals, horn
ECM: sensors, injectors, etc.
First thing to do is, PUT DOWN THE DYKES. Cut nothing.
The ECM harness comes out of the right fender well over the top of the wheel. Carefully peel it back. Take out the right wheel well liner and see where the harness goes. On the inside of the car there is a retainer holding that in. Remove it. Unplug the harness from the ECM. Remove the harness and the ECM from the car intact and unspoiled.
Plug everything else back in.

Somewhere is a pic of me in 1984 with a mash army Jeep power wheels with a ole bumper jack holding it up in the rear, a pair of dykes in my hand and every wire I could get ahold of cut. My dad was not happy at all.

Thanks man, I'm using an old school pos points coil dizzy and need to know how to wire it to the harness.

I've had a few third gens. This is a 82 ws6 so it's got all the goodies like gb9 exhaust, j65 brakes and lsd rear ect. Here's some pics of the bay, hope they don't get me banned. Yeah I know, no throttle response, terrible on the street, looks retarded, antique bread box tr is a gas bomb blah blah.
