I want to swap my 383 for a 5.3

Hey guys recently been having problems starting my 383, since ive bought this car I have just wanted to swap a newer 5.3 in it so I can single turbo charge it. The 383 is strong as hell but im fixing the vacuum leak right now and the carb is a pain in the ***. Thoughts on a swap? thinking of going with a t56 tranny or a 4l60e.
