L31 Balancer and timing cover?

Just got my L31 crate from Chev Perf and was told I could use the supplied balancer, timing cover and just plug the crank sensor. But looking at it, the balancer is a lot thinner so the serpentine pulley on the crank will not align with the rest of my accessories/brackets. (92 TBI). Should I just swap in my TBI balancer and timing cover?

from my understanding the harmonic balancer is spaced out to match your accessories by the reluctor wheel(from the fuel injected application),in the stock vortec l31 there is a reluctor wheel behind the timing chain cover that actually moves the balancer out into the correct position.im building what you have right now and this is the info ive found.can you eyeball the accesories to verify,or test fit them before installing it all to check?

You can pull the L31 stuff off and use your standard TBI parts instead. Though I recommend a new balancer or better yet a Fluidampr.

Ok yeah that's what I read also and that the balancer on the L31 has a smaller snout. But by the looks of it it wont line up, I eyeballed the setup on the TBI from the balancer to the timing cover........so if I were to just grab the crank pulley and bolt it to the L31 balancer just the way it sits it would sit to close to the timing cover not aligning with my other acc pulleys. Im gonna mock it up real quick and see if it will work.

Yeah that's what I think I'm gonna do. I thought about putting some washers in between the pulley and balancer but that's just not right. But it might work haha.

Well, getting ahead of myself. I mocked it up and it lines up perfect. Gonna keep the plastic timing cover for now. I don't wanna mess with the oil pan gasket. Always jumping to conclusions.
