Engine: 5.0 305
Transmission: 700 R4
First swap
I would like to swap another 305 5.0 v8 into my stock Trans Am. I believe it has the 700 R4 overdrive transmission. This being said I am having trouble finding out exactly which engines will bolt up to the mounts and tranny. I found an engine out of an 86 trans am, the l69 H.O for $500 and was wondering if it would bolt right up. thank you.

The chance of an '86 having a "real" HO engine are extremely small. Might be a TPI engine, though.
