Putting a car back together after 10 years. Wiring issues
So i looked through the forums briefly to try and find one that answered my questions but gave up after a little while do to my internet being bad in my garage and not wanting to refresh the next page. So i have had my brothers 88 camaro for about 10 years now. Originally it was an 305 tbi automatic but then was swapped with a carbed 4 bolt main 350. I am now putting the car back together finally after about 10 years and am currently wiring it back up. I want to delete the computer since half of that harness is gone due to no smog/tbi/sensors/cruise control/etc... i still would like to use as much of the harness as possible, because well 99% of what i need is there already. So this is where the questions start.
Since im ditching the computer, the choke and fuel pump will be tapping into the fuse box and into the "ignition on" spot, correct?
It ran when i pulled the motor but when i went to hook the hei distrutor back up, that has a 4 pronged plug thats not in my harness. Which wires do i hook to what or is there an adapter plug that i can buy?
When running a switch for the lockout, which wires are what on the connecter at the tranny?
which vaccum do i run the timing advance off of? Manifold or carb?
Im kind of mechanically inclined, these are just the few problems that i havent ever actually dealt with since ive never really built a car before. A lot of the videos or forums that i see have kinda mixed answers and only some parts of them pertain to the questions i have. I understand that these questions are most likely commonly asked questions here, but i really dont have the greatest internet so its tough for me to go through them all, especially while the weather has been crazy hot here. Sorry for the long post but just needing a little help here
