1986 305 TPI to 350 Swap Options - CA Legal
Hey all, I'm currently working on fixing my 1986 Iroc, and the original 305 is pretty much shot. Looking to upgrade the engine while maintaining CA smog compliance. I don't want to go through a referee and I'm not looking for a race car.
Just hoping for a solid upgrade over the shameful 190hp these cars came with. Before I pull the trigger based on my own research and knowledgebase, I'd like to hear some opinions on the best route here.
Thoughts?
FYI: planning on swapping the factory 700r4 for a T56 at the same time. Dont think that'll affect the engine selection much though.

Went with the ATK performance 350.
Dropped about 3k total for it brand new
Going to do my best to rig up the TPI and make it through CA smog. Updates to come.
Yall can let me know if I made a terrible mistake.
