specs on truck motor

I'm just curious as to the internals of an 89 vin k truck motor. as far as how bad the cam/pistons/heads are. If anyone knows it'd be helpful thanks.

Truck motors

The basics of the truck motor could be any number of thing whether its a 350 or the 305, well the 350 would be you best bet some of those motors had a 4 bolt main some didn't, they were pretty strong on the bottom end for a stock motor.

Vin K denotes the L05 350 TBI and in 89 produced 190hp in 90 they went to 210hp. The heads and cam are crap but the block does have the provision for a roller cam and responds well to a L98 or LT1 cam.

Dude thanks a lot.
1 more question, what would I need to put a roller cam in it?

Easiest way is to buy the complete LT1 setup on ebay for $80-$100. The LT1 cam is a good cam. Roller lifters, lifter retainers, spider cradle that holds those retainers down, pushrods for OEM roller lifters, timing chain set for OEM roller cam engine (tell parts store 90 model Z28 and you will be fine) and the cam retaining plate (keeps the roller cam from walking in the block) and bolts.
