custom driveshaft ?
Considering a drive train swap that would leave me with a rubber flex plate connection instead of a standard sliding yoke/ u joint end. The transmission is an Aisin AR5 out of an Solstice. They had independent rear suspension so really had small shafts with rubber flex discs connecting them. Think slightly smaller version of the 5th gen camaro. Already have the TA separated from the trans end on a aftermarket cross member so that is not a worry. The question is : Is there an option for a self contained sliding driveshaft out there ?
Familiar with long two & three piece shafts in bigger trucks and some larger cars, But those all have intermediate or middle support bushings. The goal of this swap is less weight- same or slightly more power than the tried 305. Future plans call for no more than 250whp/ 250tq. Road Race only
Open to suggestions

Re: custom driveshaft ?
Motions raceworks is the company,
light weight steering column is the product.
maybe they can help steer you in the right direction.
no pun intended.
Also there is video on YouTube by MW Auto.
the title is, Ford 9in/3RD Gen CAMARO(messing around the whole time)
fast forward to about 1:32 and there’s an insert about the steering column.
Good luck
