converting to tpi?

How much would be involved in taking the tpi setup off of a 305 and putting it on my carbed 350? I have acces to a wrecked iroc with the 305 in it so what do I need to grab while i have the chance?

i'm putting a new rebuilt 88' 305 in my 87 IROC-Z and using the TPI off of the dead 305 in the car now. Now, when you're taking TPI off of an engine, that means the intake manifold, the plenum, the runners, the wiring harnes, DON'T forget the ECM!. Basically the whole top of the engine, down to the fuel tank.. you need the fuel pump. Basically you take your 350, and then look at the 305, anything that's not on the 350 is probably part of the TPI system. I recommend getting some information from a source like books or GM. I have the Chevy TPI Fuel Injection Swapper's Guide book from SA Designs, it's helping me out a lot. Basically there's a lot more to do than i can name, because i haven't done the whole swap yet, but i'm just giving you an idea. If there's a time limit, take the whole engine out! and don't forget the wiring harnes and the ECM.

I have a carbed 305, and I wanted to swap it out for a 350 TPI. I was told by the local shops that just the "change over" from carb to TPI takes 20 hours of work @ around 1400.00 to 1500.00
They said the fuel lines, fuel pump, wiring harness, &computer have to be changed along with a few other things. The 1400.00 didnt include the cost of the engine BTW.
But I live in costly california, so things make be cheaper where you are.
So thats what happened to me, I hope things work out for you.
