head swap trouble
I pulled the heads off a 85 iroc engine. Went to install them on a 88 Camaro non roller engine. The guide pins on the block and passenger side are not set up the same. The 85 head has the front pin in it. The engine block has both pins so that the front pin is in the way of the pin that is in the head. Are the pin's removable? I tried to get one out and it doesn't move

Re: head swap trouble
OK. I took the risk and vise grip the stud on the 85 head. Gently wiggled and work it out. I needed the bolt pattern angle for a carbureted intake manifold. Going into a 84 firebird

What is the cylinder head casting number
under the valve cover?
Truth is the 4 center intake bolt holes can be elongated oval shaped enough to accomodate the other type head. Add a wedge shaped washer under the bolt head to correct clamping angle.
The Weiand Street Warrior Dual Plane Mid-Rise SBC intake is available in both the 55 -86 year and 87 up angled bolts style. #8125/#8126
Fits both a Qjet spreadbore flange or Holley- eddy 4150 flange.. Better intake than a common performer. More underhood clearance than the eddy RPM hirise manifold.
