Do I need wiring harness?

I’m about to pull a Vortec 350 from a junkyard truck to replace my 5.0. Do I need the wiring harness from the Vortec or will it work with my stock one from my carbed 5.0?

Depends on what you are doing with it. If you want to retain the vortec fuel injection system from the vehicle you pulled it from, probably. If you are just going to run a carb your existing wiring harness should be fine.

You probably want the connectors that go to the alternator but there's not much of the harness you're going to need for a carb conversion.
