Re: 305 engine upgrade to HO

If you have the L69, that IS the HO.

Differences were: better cam, FAR better exhaust all the way from the heads to the street, higher compression in that year, better gears (3.42 or 3.73 w auto, 3.73 all w T-5), electric fan, better carb calibration, better advance curve, cold air induction (Camaro anyway... not sure the details in the Firebirds), aluminum drums if they weren't disc, misc extra fender bracing. 83 Camaro (again, not sure about all other years, or the Birds) got the VERY lightweight SMC hood. And of course, we mustn't forget the MOST IMPORTANT PART to lots of people: the "HO" STICKERZZZZ!!!

First of all, I would like to thank you for your generosity in answering me, as well as for the information you provided to me
The fact is that I changed the engine of the car to 350 and I have traveled with it to several places.
From Kuwait to Dubai back and forth to participate in the Custom Show Dubai exhibition and won the award for the longest driving on a classic car
As well as from Kuwait to Abu Dhabi, and I won the award for the most beautiful car for the eighties models, and the longest driving on a classic car, and the distance was 800 miles round trip and also i went from kuwait to Riyadh and it was a long way

But I thought about it and found that it is better to return the original engine , but developed
Is it worth it to develop it or continue in the 350 or keep the original 305 with out change it to H.O
There is no problem with costs But I would like to know if it is worth developing or not

thankyou

Re: 305 engine upgrade to HO

Congratulations on the car show wins.

I cannot counsel you about "worth it". I doubt that having the original motor will ever make even the slightest bit of difference to anybody but yourself; but only you can decide that.

You cannot "change it to HO" if it's already the L69. That IS the HO motor.
