LS3 swap trouble codes

i read this in the description for the l3s e-rod:
  • The specially calibrated engine controller does not engage a number of features associated with production-model systems, which eliminates the possibility of trouble codes. It also has an SES (service engine soon) LED indicator embedded in the fuse box.
does this mean i cant connect to an obd2 port for example and get troulbe code?? it only uses check engine light to get codes??
can anyone explain this? thnx

Re: LS3 swap trouble codes

I believe what they're saying is they have programmed out monitoring of some circuits. For instance, they are probably not running evap system checks, so there will be no potential for P0442, 446, 496, etc

Yes, the ECM will still store codes. You can wire it to your SES light on your cluster.

Yes. Your LS engine harness will have the OBD port and you can pull codes as if it were OEM.
