Which version of the Lt1? Gen 1, 2 or 5?

I swapped a LT1 (4 bolt with Corvette heads) and T56 trans in my 92 Camaro RS. It was originally a V6 3.1, 5 speed. Unfortunately I don't live in Colorado. The power difference is amazing.

I believe it! Did you use the original LT1 wiring harness ? How did you go about wiring the lt1 to your 92? I also got a 92 RS with the 305 and a 5 speed.

I'd help...but I'm in Park City, UT. That'd be an enjoyable job. You'd have to get the car here which I'd guess that you don't want to, or have the means to do.

I bought. 95 Camaro z28 from a guy. He had swapped the Camaro block for the Corvette block. I used the 95 wire harness, pcm and emissions for my car since I live in CA. Using the 95 harness there's only 7 or 8 wires that need to connect to my 92 to run the engine. I ended up repairing and replacing worn wires on the harness and extended the wires by 3ft so I could mount the PCM in the dash like the original PCM.

It extended the PCM wires so the harness could reach the the dashboard. Then I mounted the computer in the same spot as the original computer on the far right side of dash.

I extended the PCM wires of the harness so it could reach the dashboard via a wire port on the front passenger wheel well. Then I mounted the computer in the same spot as the original computer on the far right side of dash.

Nice. That's where mine sits. I didn't take my dash apart though. Probably would have made things easier.

I know this forum is a little old, but I haven’t been on here in a long while and was just doing some searching and found this thread. I’m currently finishing up an LT1 swap in my 84 Firebird. I wired it up using the factory under hood fuse block from the donor car. Wired it up like the fourth Gen car was wired using the fusible links and all that to a junction block and the starter for the original fusible links. I repurposed relays in the 4th Gen underhood fuse block to use for other things. Rewired the fuse block as needed. My car was originally carbureted so I used my original HEI power feed to trigger what I called a powertrain relay, It feeds my ecm ign fuse (powers ecm, purge solenoid, and coil) and injector fuses. I also had a choke heater wire from inside the car which was hot in the correct power modes and it was fed by a 25 amp fuse and used it to trigger a run relay, water pump relay and another for future use. The power train and run relays power pretty much everything in the fuse block for the powertrain other than my fans and water pump, mine is electric, which have their own. All hot wires that feed the relays come from fusible links just like the fourth gen car. I did a battery relocation with the cut off switch and I put my fuel pump relay in the back by my battery so my 10 gauge wires to the fuel pump don’t travel the whole length of the car only the trigger wire from the ECM and it runs down the passenger side under the carpet along with my battery cables. I made a pass-through under my AC delete box with a nice grommet to run my harness through the firewall and put my ECM up under the dash on the passenger side where the factory ECM was. No extending the harness needed. I can give more info if you would like. Mine is going to be more of a street/drag car so I don’t use a/c or p/s. I use a 4th Gen alternator relocation bracket to mount my alternator down low. Had to grind the bracket a bit to clear the idler arm, but no big deal. Using a 4th Gen radiator and factory LT1 fans. Trans is a 93 M29 T56 with a moser 9”. I can give more info if needed. Get a manual for each car and go over the schematics. Take your time.
