1998 305 swap into 1987 Camaro

I have a 1987 Camaro that had a seized engine, I pulled it out and was getting ready to swap my newer 1998 305. Anybody have any tips or has done this before that might know if I need certain adapters or other hardware?

If the 1998 heads have the Vortec bolt pattern you'll need a different intake manifold. Your 87 won't fit it.

I came to that conclusion, I was planning on buying one from summit. I’m more interested in finding the right headers that won’t bump up against the firewall

Best way to go is probably a 4-bbl carb intake and an adapter. Unless things have changed the Vortec TBI intakes SUCK.

Be careful though, some of the adapters that used to be around anyway, move the TB front-to-rear so much that it's almost impossible to get the throttle and TV cables to work. Look CAREFULLY for one that leaves the TB in its stock location.
