2.8l v6 to 350 with manual transmission?
2.8l v6 to 350 with manual transmission?
Been looking to wake my car up a bit and swap in a chevy 350. its a 85 camaro with the 2.8 in it now, with the bog warner 5 speed also. its all stock im looking to hopefully swap it with keeping the transmission and rear end. my question is if id need adapter plate or a different transmission, if the splines would match up, if id need a bigger clutch, and if there'd be any difference through the years for my transmission or the engine itself. id love an old carbureted 350. any advice would be much appreciated, thanks yall.

"V6 T5 transmissions can be used behind a V8. But, you will need a V8 bellhousing, and the input shaft is smaller than V8 T5's - meaning you need a small-spline clutch disk (reports are there is a 10" S10 small spline disk available), and the transmission will be very weak and will not stand up to V8 abuse."

Im in the same situation currently. I want to stay manual and keep the stock rear end. I wonder if there are any other reasonable options for a 5 speed in these cars? Ive read that the 350s never came with a 5 speed so something might need to be MacGyver'd in...? I hope we can get some answer because im just as stuck
