Engine/machine shop in ATL area?

Hey folks,

I'm looking to swap a better engine into my '86 Trans Am, either a used 350 TPI or some kind of crate motor. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone here has any recommendations on a good engine/machine shop in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Everyone I know seems to be into imports and I can't find any good recommendations for good domestic shops. The car still runs fine, so I would be willing to drive it somewhere, but I'd rather not take it to Florida

Thanks!

'86 Trans Am 305 Carb (soon to change!)
'83 V6 Firebird (maybe put the T/As current engine in?)

Which are you looking for a general auto repair shop to remove and reinstall a motor you purchase or a machine shop to assemble and balance the parts you purchase, then you install?

Because my mechanical skills are still somewhat limited, I likely won't be ablet o do much of the work myself. I guess I'm looking for a place to drop the car off, then pick it up later with the new engine in it

I've investigated the possbility of renting the equip to do it myself, but i just don't have the confidence that I can do it alone.

I am a high school student, and I'm performing a work-study at Will's Auto Machine Shop in Chamblee. That is actually where I built my new motor. We only do work on parts that are already out of the vehicle. Its a quality shop, and many top drag racers in the south get work done there. They have also been mentioned in a few magazines for their work on featured cars.

Since we do most of our own work, my experience with auto repair shops is limited, I had kinda hoped you needed a machine shop, as the guy we use is amazing! I know of a couple of places that work on domestic cars mainly, if you want to email me directly, I'll give you the names. I can't vouch for their work, but at least would give you some people to talk to and get a general idea of price.

Cool, thanks, I'll check out the couple places. I'm not interested in a real monster of a motor, but something better than the LG4 in the thing currently.

The Wills place sounds good, but I don't know how I'd get the engine out that's in it now, or whatnot.

I also wouldn't mind e-mailing you inadaze, but you don't have your e-mail address available
