knock sensor is usually on passenger side of the block, kind of near the bottom. You'lll see it there, it screws into the block. But watch it cuz when it comes out antifreeze/coolant will come otu with it! (I learned this quickly!)

You need to get the specific one that's for the engine it's going into... mainly because each engine runs a little different and the knock sensor's sensitivity is set in consideration for engine it's going into.

good luck
garett

PS: this is prolly the most common 'code' set by the computer, they always go after about 50 000miles it seems!

I'm swapping to a 383 from a 305 in my 88.

I was going to get a 350 knock sensor but didn't know about a knock module. Where is the know module? Is it under the coil on the pass side?

It's on the passenger side of the block, just above the oil pan rail, near the middle.

Yes that is where the large round knock sensor is located.
But I was asking about the
"350 Knock Module: AC/Delco # 16128261"
that RICH92RS350 posted

Where is this part located?

The module is on the firewall, between the brake master cylinder and fender on the driver's side.
It mounts to the front of the bracket that holds the fuel pump and fan relays.

Do the sensor and module work together meaning if you have the 350 sensor you must have the 350 module?

Does it matter if we're talking about a MAF vs SD set up?
Are the knock sensor and module that same for either MAF or SD?

I'm running a MAF now and I have all the sensors from my 305. I need to know if all those sensors and modules whatever will work when I put in a new 383.

Any advice is appreciated:hail:

Dwayne, you posted the info that should have been in the first post in this thread

Knock sensors are tuned to bore size, so a 350 k.s. should be perfect for a 383. Dwayne, you should get the sensorand module for a MAF 350. Everything else off the top of my head will work.
