v6 comp to a carb v8

I;ve got the 6 out of the car and in the process of getting the 305 out ofthe other. i'm switchin from a 2.8 to a 86 305, i've got two complete donor cars so i'm not worried about parts, but as far as anyhelp or suggestions from any one who's been in the previous situation feel free.

I am doing this swap myself.84 Camaro 2.8 to 350 out of a 79 chevy van.I rebuilt the engine and added some mods.Im using 350 turbo trans.I have the engine and trans in but dont have much hooked up yet.Since you have parts cars you are in good shape.Im not using computer set up as this makes the swap that much more complicated. You will have to use v8 motor mounts, replace or bend your brake line that runs across your crossmember,v6 700r4 trans wont bolt up to your v8 so you will have to swap that.Your fuel line may have to be rerouted as mine was on the wrong side of the car.Hook up your wiring etc.Good luck

I will say that it would be much easier and probably cheaper to just buy yourself a v8 car.I had a nice v6 car with a blown engine and decided to set it up for drag racing.

I just did the same swap not to long ago with a totaled IROC.
I swaped the entire drive train. The totaled car had a posi rear with disc brakes. If you are changine the rear do yourself a favor and take out the electric fuel pump. Some people say the pump on the motor will draw through it. On my car it didn't I had to almost drop the rear out again and take the pump out of the tank.
Make sure you swap the exhaust with the rear out or almost out it is much easier that way. As already stated you will need to move the motor mounts to the front set of holes and use the brake line from the donor car. If your going to swap the front springs swap the mounts with the springs out it will be much easier. I felt it was worth the time to switch the springs. The car sits right with the added weight and handles a whole lot better. You will also need the radiator from the v8. Its bigger and the hoses are probably on different sides. It took my friend and I about 18 hrs to remove the v6 drive train and front suspention and replace it with the parts we had already ripped out of the IROC. If you do change the front springs post a message on how to do it. I got it done but there has to be an easier way than the way I did it.

Engine: 406
Transmission: 700r4 (for now)
use the stock fuel pump and add a Malory 3 port adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Set it at 5-7lbs and away you go. I have had no problems yet...( I guess yet may be a key word.)
