TPI crate swap
How to make an engine swap emmissions legal, What needed?
I am going to put a TPI crate engine in my 91 V6. Everyone says that i should find a donor car but i watn everything new. My question is, everyone is always saying dont do a crate swap because of emmisions, well, what makes it emmisions legal, isnt it the cats? if it is, than why couldnt i just put cats from the same year as my car and hook them up to the new engine? If anyone knows about this, please tell, thanks

Also, does anyone know where i can find complete instructions on the swap, thanks, also, about emmissions, i know about the cats and i will most likely need an erg valve and o2 sensor but other than that, what will i need? thanks
Just out of curiosity, is there any place that sells used complete TPI engines with wireing harness and all the needed accessories, All i need is to find a place that sells TPI engines,Or, wouldnt it be easier to put a carburated 350 in it, if anyone knows how to make an engine emmissions legal, please reply, or at least know what needs to be present to make emmissions legal, PLEASE. ANYONE?

S&P
Check out Street & Performance www.tunedport.com I'm sure they could help you-request a catalog from them while you're at it.
Thanks for your help, i will not use them because i have been looking into them for a while and they were so much more expensive than other people. What i need to know is, is there any place that sells used engines(used TPI) engine with computer, sensors, ect? if there is one, please tell me, thanks

one word "EBAY". what is your budget like. if you can spend around $3500 then i would say to get an LS1 motor and Trans. that is what i'm planning on doing. make sure you read the descriptions because some people sell them with all of the accessories and some people don't. they just sold a 99' LS1 w/accessories, transmission, complete rear suspension (all out of a corvette) for around $4000+ (motor was low mileage).
