on a 350 88 camaro do you think the regular performer intake with a triangular edelbrock air cleaner will have enough hood clearance???

yes it wirll work, I ran that combo on my 89.

The problem is that those air cleaners suck, and they are flammable.
My car backfired the other day and it caught fire and melted into my carb. now I have to take the carb apart cuz it is full of melted foam.
Read the post by me "edelbrock air cleaners suck" and you will find that is the general consensus amongs people who have used them. they suck.

I had enough hood clearance for a 14x3, 1" adaptor plate on an RPM. I just had to bash the base a little bit to clear the TPS and IAC on my throttle body. The adaptor plate gave the base about a half inch clearance from the coil so no problems .
So yeah, no problems with hood clearance. Only issue is that whole proBLOW air cleaner is a piece of crap! My TB injectors get pretty hot after a long drive and I noticed a couple melted holes where the tops of the injectors were resting against the foam!
Don't use the problow!!!!!!!
$15 summit racing sells a 14x3 drop base which includes air cleaner!, use it, works great, looks great!
