TPI will offer better gas mileage and drivability as well as probably torque.
Carb setup rougher idle, worse gas mileage, more horsepower and faster for less money.
TPI's can be made to be fast but involve lots of money to do it. The factory stuff needs to be trashed.
If the car will be a daily driver, probably go with TPI.
If cost is a factor, go with Carb'd.
If fuel economy is a factor, go TPI.
If pure fun is the factor, go Carb'd.
In other words...it depends on what you want and how much money you want to spend.

How much horsepower does the TPI engine have, i have heard that they have only like 240hp and i want more like 350, maby i could even go with a 383, it all depends on where i can get one and which swap is going to be the easiest.
well, also, couldnt i just get a performer RPM pro-flo EFI system and put that on top of the carb engine, wouldnt that give me better MPG because it is EFI

Yeah, I was thinking about the same thing, carbing or TPI, but MY hangup was on how hard is it? I know that I can take my engine (soon to be a 383) to a place and have all the wiring done etc. for like 1000 bucks, but I don't want to spend that much. How hard is it to carb it from a TBI/TPI from a TBI?
