additional parts....

Alright i am dropping in a carbed 305 into my camaro which was a 2.8 mpfi

noone really explained to me that i would need additonal parts.....

i knew about headers and i was told my v6 5-speed tranny would bolt up but now i am told by someone else that it wont ....

so i am guessing this is what i will need then, can anyone verify or/and add things to this list ?

1989 Camaro RS -2.8 mpfi
-will be carbed-

*Front springs
*v8 headers
*v8 t5 trans

**what else would i need

people have put the v6's T-5 behind a v8 so you should be able to too. You need the v8 bellhousing and something done to the clutch i forget what exactly. search on this board. Its there somewhere.

On the transmission..I believe that you need a different input shaft to mate up with the v8. I am in no way a tranny expert though. I am in the process of putting a 355 into a 91 camaro of my friends. We changed the mounts, exhaust, gas lines, front brake line on crossmember, interior gauges, We also had to do away with most of the wiring from the 3.1mpfi, and run wires for alt ( your v6 alt won't work unless it is v-belt, or your going to run serpentine. ) they changed the alternator plugs on the newer motors) radiator, run all different hoses for heater and radiator, It sounds like a lot of stuff, but a day at the boneyard and you can scavenge most of it.
