poor running problem cured...

well after several months of frustration I've finally had my problem sorted  ... it was ignition based only thing is it was the dizzy turns out that the shaft had been loosing it's magnetic charge so by the time it got to the rolling road it was virtually de-magnitised (as an aside the front part of the carb was also overfueling)... a silly amount of money later (didn't really have time to look around and research prices think that'll be a project now - have a look around at other pricey bits so I can get a better idea of costs in case of other problems) and it seems to be running fine

was it the type of rolling road that gives power figures?

Glad to hear you got it sorted. if you were over fueling on the primarys, you would be severely hurting economy as well as power, so your running expenses should drop quite a bit!

Result!

Phil.

That's excellent news! Ever since I've known you, the car seems to have had this problem! Nothing worse than an elusive fault. Must be good to have some no hassle driving and having some time to actually enjoy the Zed.... Welcome back.

Felix

<grin> thanks guys... unfortunately Phil the road only handles up to 200 bhp so they weren't able to tell me - but at least it confirms that I have over 200 at the wheels now have to drive it for a while to check it out and get used to it today - oh and it's raining at the mo... could be fun!!!

well too wimpy (or sensible!!) to give it full helmet in the wet... enough traction problems in the dry (on 255/55/16 now)... not sure it's properly set up yet but going to run it for a few months and see if theres any change... at present there seems to be a slight hesitancy @ about 1500 and the idle speed seems to go from 550rpm in one jam to 7/800 in another no rhyme or reason... just want to see how driving it works out for a while! do love it though... and just realised that it is quite a noisy bugger too... :lala:
