hooning around like a loon at times.. posing like a tart at others ... can't pretend not to have much under the hood though - new silencers (or rather lack of them!! ) kinda gives the game away

Mine's my daily driver. Goes to work, goes to the shops at the weekends, and goes 200 miles each way every time I visit my parents in Portsmouth. I can't justify having such a car and not driving it all the time.

Hi guys,

Mine is weekend toy only. I used to use mine daily 5 years ago with the LG4. Man I got 28mpg back then. The ZZ4 has rendered it inpractical. I reckon I'm getting 15mpg now Also I do 126 miles a day to work and back- VTEC power for me boys.

BTW I'm letting this thread stay as it is a Euro specific question. I'm sure the reasons and uses for our cars are different from our brothers over the pond

Cheers,
Felix

My red 86 Camaro is a very pretty garage ornament. 350 miles a year on average in the last 10 years!! And I CAN justify owning a car like this and not using it! It will hit the shows this summer though, so more miles to come.

The black 350 RS is used perhaps 2 or 3 times a week in the summer for visiting friends, quick shopping trip or posing. Nothing too serious. Once or twice to the school I teach at (parking it alongside normal teachers cars!!). In the winter, it sometimes moves down to the end of the road and back.
Work is handled by a 1 litre micra (1991 and worth about a fiver) and family duties are taken care of by a black 1999 peugeot 406 7 seater (hearse lookalike).

Andy.

I use mine a couple of times a week, trying to keep it away from the wet salty roads we end up with far too often. I need to do a heap of work to get it to a daily driver, as it chews fuel like a well pickled alcoholic, at about 17mpg! New leads and plugs on the way, and then the fun of tuning the holley carb. (brother just completed the tune up of his 383, so shouldn't be too much of a problem.) Also gotta get me alloys bead blasted as they leak about 5psi a week! Fix the leaking exhaust manifold.... on and on it goes, but thats half the fun!

When I get all that done then I would hope to be using it for about half the week, for comuting (8 miles) and touring etc.

I have a slight hankering to take it circuit racing, but that'll costa fortune to get it kitted out, and in the end it'll land up in the same race as me brothers 383 powered ultima gtr.

Si.

Mine's a daily driver, used for social & domestic pleasure (as the insurance companies say). I can't justify having it as a weekend car or for shows only. It was made for getting people from A to B & that's what I use it to it's full potential.

Might as well use it all the time before this friggin Govt. gets it's way & shuts us classic drivers down. Never heard so many "new labour new nonsense" laws & taxes implemented on UK drivers in such a short period of time.

If I had 2 like you do, maybe I could justify it too!

(parking it alongside normal teachers cars!!).
Is that normal cars belonging to teachers, or cars belonging to normal teachers? :P

Mine sits on a friends drive (as I have nowhere to put it!!!) about 20mins dirve from my house, all covered up.

So I don't really use it.
It's on a 5,000 mile limited policy anyway which I'm trying to save for summer.

I need to find a garage somewhere vaguely near me (NE London) as it can't stay on his drive forever...

Anyone got any ideas on that one (as most lockups I've seen are too small)?

I hope your patient.Mine was going to be a quick engine rebuild and paint blowover but ended up being stripped to a bare shell and virtually everything replaced. The problem is once you've done one bit and it looks good, everything around it looks crap.so it snowballs from there. Not trying to put you off and I hope all goes well.

Mine is only used on weekends and fine summer evenings.
However I do take it to Lemans and Spa to watch the 24 hour races.

mine is a milage *****, its used for everything as its my only car, in 2003 it racked up 21 000 miles

I'd love to keep it as a weekend toy though, that might be possible this year.

Should think so too, a lovely car like yours! Get that wallet out and buy a beater.

Andy.

I have managed to keep my daily driver looking nice by a fastidious program of wasing and waxing all year round.

I'ts just had a spring clean, so there better not be any more salt put on the roads now.
here she is in spring ready shine. (4 coats of wax in a week!)
