Re: Oh dear?!
Hi Gordon,
The 82 is still in a state of restoration. However the 92 now has Corvette magnesium wheels with good rubber on. Most of the suspension upgrades have been finished. I'm close to finishing the 996 turbo calipers. I'm getting the parts to finish the brakes from a bloke in Germany. he makes parts for Porsche brakes for a living. The parts he makes are very professional, not the usual hack jobs I've seen.I'm fed up of engineering places here taking the ****. With the suspension and brakes done, the rear end will have a Quaiffe diff in it, not cheap but bombproof. Then the motor. I should be making good progress by next year realistically.
Cheers Neil

Good luck with things! You'll get there.
I've finished my ZZ4 motor swap and am dealing with various issues including a horrendous vibration at present. Search for my username and two threads should come up, if you fancy a read at the current woes.
As regards the Quaife diff, I take it you have a 10 bolt rear in the '92 as I know Quaife don't do anything for the Borg Warner 9 bolt?
Are the Porsche brakes going into your '92 also? Let me know how good they are when you're finished them. I've still not taken the plunge with new brakes yet.

Re: Oh dear?!
Aha, caught you out, the diff is a Moser Ford 9". The problem I had was finding a diff to take 700+hp without resorting to a locker, which is not the best thing for going around corners fast. I fell over when I looked at the quaiffe site and saw they made one! When I asked them what sort of hp i could throw at it they said, its a billet part and i could throw as much power as i wanted at it. It is £500 inc.shipping, not cheap, but a perfect solution for a bombproof smooth diff. I'm amazed I've not seen them on any other 9" equipped car, but Quaiffe are a UK company so maybe that's it? The Porsche brakes are goin into the 92. They are monster size 996 turbo calipers with 993 turbo discs. I reckon it will cost around £1400 to do the front. But to be fair that's all the parts, machining, hoses, proportioning valve etc. But if you take a look at forums for other cars,Porsche calipers are a very common swap and these badboys will stand it on its nose. The standard brakes really are appalling, especially the way I drive. Just do a bit of bypass driving, by the time you reach roundabout no.3 theres nothing left!

Re: Oh dear?!
Nice ebay ad. I relly liked the part that reads: "GRAB A BARGAIN, THERE AREN`T MANY LIKE THIS"
Just as well there aren't many like that otherwise I would have to sell mine.
