Hi from uk, also needing parts
hi, i own a 1989 305 rs camaro which i bought in september
i am 20 and this is my first yank
excuse me looking like a *****

when i bought it, it 'just needed a starter motor'
it has no tax or mot, so its my project,
it is all set up for nitrous just needing a bottle
and it has autogas! so cheap cruising!
so got a starter motor quite cheap the engine started on the button after almost a year of stand still! syked!
but then whilst driving it the wheel bearing collapsed and the hub broke in half and the wheel dented the wing
so does anyone have a O/F front hub?
also needing a radiator
anyone?
since i owned it the paint has bubbled so needs painting, and im not a fan of the **** graphics down the side
i am praying to get it finshed for aaci summer nationals at billing
so thats a little about me and my car

Hey, yeah thats usually the case when u buy a 2nd hand car these days. That is bad luck the bearing collapsed though, damn! So what work does it need for an MOT?
Best way to get parts is to get them from the states, summit is pretty good and theres always ebay. Theres some suppliers in the uk but they charge like £50 for a set of spark wires, god only knows much markup they put on a rad!
Best get all the hardware done before you touch the paint.

Don't think I've used Rockautos before, but as long as you pay by credit card you always have cover should anything happen. I've spent thousands on things from the US and never once had a problem. Service is usually very good compared to here.
The hub and disc are cast together in these cars. Is it the actual hub that is the problem or is it the spindle? Can you post a pic of the part you need to replace?
Are you planning to run the nitrous with the autogas? Also, where in the UK are you?

sounds good then, its just the postage price which is a bummer
its the hub and disc cast, the disc snapped off the hub, i havnt had chance to look at ony other damage, but unfortunatly im in plymouth at uni, and i work on the car when im home in weston the odd weekend and i cant get any pics
well i dont plan to use them at the same time, and getting another bottle is way down on my list of stuff to do

Re: Hi from uk, also needing parts
Danus, Its probably worth changing the wires, distributor cap, rotor arm, change the oils, clean injectors etc as well as replace those bits that droped off. The rad might be fixable so that would save you some cash. Otherwise a better rad is going to help if ur planning to upgrade the motor. Il probably be going up to the aaci summer nationals at billing this year, you been there before?

check this out. brembo makes the best stock replacement rotors availible. i beat mine to death using sprint car race pads and they still work great. and they're cheap.

Glad to hear you got it sorted mate. By the way, I found US Automotive very reaosnable when I got a quote from them yesterday for bits I need. Might be worth considering them in future, especially for service parts.
Re: Hi from uk, also needing parts
If you need any parts or advice let me know, i run American Technique in Watford North london, If your on any of the UK forums you will have heard of me.
Re: Hi from uk, also needing parts
ClassicCamaroClubUK is the best site for UK Camaro owners and it's getting busier again each day. Get yourself on there and say hello.
Although I've never been there I have read that American Technique do have a good reputation. If I still lived in the UK I'd visit them before some other more well known Pontiac specialist.
