SLP headers with Hooker Catback

Hey

How do u guys think this exhaust would sound like. I think that it would sound awsome. It would be mean and loud. What do u guys think. And the parts are for 1986 and up. I have a 1985, will everything still hook up nice. Im hoping it will.

Thanks

If you got the headers and cat-back fitted for the same year you will be fine, only thing left would be your cat, if you're using one. Just wonderin why you decided to go with the '86 up Hooker it's like $70 more.?

Because the 1985 Hooker catback isnt ment for TPI engines. They are built for the carb engines. And for 70 bucks more im sure that somthing will be better about it.

Dude, the only difference is the way they hook to the catalytic converter. The cheaper one has a square flange for the cat, I had it cut off and welded.

It doesn't matter what type of fuel delivery you have.

Nope, it's all 3" piping with the same muffler and tips. Just the way it connects to the cat, fricken stupid ain't it. $70 more for just a connection part.

I've got that setup on my car now, minus the cat. I'll tell ya, it sounds awesome. Kinda mellow and deep at idle, and it screams at WOT. I highly recommend both.

If you plan on installing it all yourself, make sure you get a cat that will bolt up (3" in and out) and the cat adapter from SLP. If you are ditching the cat, i'd say you should mount the headers and the muffler and have an exaust shop fab up the rest. That's what i did and it cost me $30 total, including welding all the connections, which is less than the cat adapter alone.
