Question about exhaust:

Hey Guys,

Within the next 30-45 days I will purchase and install SLP headers, Catco Cat, and a borla Cat Back, but my question is..... on top of my stock exhaust manifold there are the smog thingies. I know SLP makes ones w/ the smog equipment but, do I need it? Will I pass emissions w/o it? Post back with questions, comments, and snide remarks.

i think your headers have the AIR system wich are somewhat vital to you passing your inspection. if you mean the EGR valve, im not too sure because people have taken that off and been fine. i think as long as you keep the AIR system you should pass if its working correctly. you need some form of emission control besides a cat to pass inspection (well, at least in new jersey)

Depends where you live and their emission standards/testing.

Will you pass sniffer? Yes; well, no effect, actually, because the car is tested warm, and when warm, the air is diverted to the cat.

Do you have visual inspection? If so, and the inspector knows what he's doing, you'll fail if you don't have the A.I.R. going to the headers.
