header help?

Im looking for a set of headers but I dont know which way to go.

shorties or long tube?
hedman, hooker, flowtech, edelbrock?
1 5/8 or 1/12?
Buy a y-pipe to match header or get a custom one made?

I dont have the smog or cats, but I do have to keep the 02 sensor. I cant afford SLP's.

what should I go with. My setup is in my sig.

This is confusing the hell out of me!

I want a good setup, but cant pay out the *** for it.

thanks.

i got a set of hooker shorty competition headers, running threw a 2.25 custom y pipe (i know its small but for some reason thats all the exhaust places can do around here they say that cant make a 2.5 or 3) the y pipe was 100$ and the headers 141$ not bad sounds real good and definetly made a big power difference over the stock stuff and the car sounds real good..doesnt sound like a 305 at all...im also running no cat to a series 80 flow...i figure this should be plenty of flow for the 305 for awhile

I don't know how well long tubes will fit in our cars, but just get some shorties and the matching y-pipe. What are your plans with your motor, how much HP do you expect to get out of it?

if you had a 305 i would say go with the flowtech considering there low cost and they fit better then most exspensive header but you have a 350 i would say get atleast 1 5/8" headers from hooker and get there matching y pipe for $300

mark.

I am planing on maybe making it into a 355 with heads anf intake, cam and a few more mods. somewhere in the 300 to 400 range on the hp. I would like to have a set of shorties with the o2 sensor and a 3 inch y-pipe. I thought about the hedman setup. But I also like hooker headers.

jerflash.

I though about the hookers, but dont have the part # for them. I have not had any luck finding the y-pipe that matches the shorties. Do you have the part #. Remember I dont have to be smog legal. I just need the 02 sensor fitting.

thanks.

Edlebrock

I went with the Edlebrock TES headers and Y-pipe
configuration. I like.. cept I wished I would have had
my Y-pipe powder coated before putting it on.... oh well
