depends what engine you have and if you have to smog it. If you have to smog it, SLPs are the best, if not, some longtubes are nice.

He means if you have to keep your smog equipment in order to pass emissions tests. Shorties join the exhaust from both headers into one pipe under the passenger side of the car by a Y pipe. It then goes through the cat and down the passenger side, over the axle where (usually) it connects to a 1-in-2-out muffler and is split to both the right and left side at the rear of the car. Longtubes are associated with true duel exhaust... one pipe leading to the rear or sides of the car from each header. True duel is the best flowing, but is only really usefull for cars making over 350hp. I believe SLP shorties are the best shorties for our cars, but they are also the most expensive. I'd say Hooker Super Comp. and Edlebroch TES shorties are a close second... If you don't have to keep emmissions, then some longtubes are the answer (depending on your application). Run a true dual exhaust with an X pipe and you won't be dissappointed by the gains you can feel and hear!
