Test Pipe

I am considering getting a test pipe. Now is this worth it? Would i get the same results from gutting the cat? Just that I need something to swap in and out before I go for emissions testing, should it be the test pipe or the gutted cat? Or should I just go the legal way and get a high flow cat (too much money)?

What do you guys think?

i would not suggest a gutted cat w/o a pipe through it, it just doesnt sound that good. i test pipe will work, unless you are worried about a cop looking under there for a cat if you get pulled over or something. i dont know what it is like where you live. click the link to see what i did, cost about 60 bucks all together maybe a little bit more expensive but i have the flow and sound of a straight pipe with the look of a catalytic converter.
