true dual exhaust

I plan on getting hooker comp headers next pay check. I was wondering if true dual exhaust would be louder and cost effective than cat back.

depends how much a muffler shop will charge to weld it up. i couldnt even find a shop to do duals on my car. but they are out there. since you would have to have a custom ypipe true duals may not be that much more expensive

do a search. ground clearence goes down but depending on how you do it it may not go down that much. like i said i would be running true duals if one exhaust shop within 100 miles would bend and weld it up

If you're not going to use a cat, it is soooo easy! Use good dual cat pipes to get both pipes to the pass. side or have a muffler shop copy the design, since you probably want 2 1/2" or bigger pipes. Just stagger the mufflers under the pass. side floor pan. You'll have plenty of ground clearance--the same or more than stock. You can then run pipes out the pass side (2 pipes out the pass side before the rear tires looks very nice--search for CarNDrvr, who has that setup), you can dump the pipes before the rear axle, or you can run the two pipes over the rear axle where the one stock pipe goes.

Alternatively, you could run the pipes on separate sides of the car and put one muffler under each floor pan, but it may be kind of tricky getting the driver's side pipe snaked between the A-arm mount and the oil filter. (I have to face that challenge because I'm using cats with my dual setup).

Anyway, just about any mufflers will fit--on my stock-height 91 WS6, I have a >9 inches of ground clearance under the front floor pans. I'm going with Spin Tech Pro Street mufflers.

There are several people on this site with true duals (about to be one more once I fab mine) so search.
