Please Reply... Is it possible to go with long tubes and lower your car?

I'm not talking about a major drop or anything, but I'd like to kill some fenderwell space in my Formula 350, but really want to go with long tubes. Is it possible to do a 1-1.5 inch drop and use long tubes? Somebody's got to know, please help me out, cause the 383's on it's way and I need to make a decision.

The answer to this question is absolutely not. I lowered my car 1" in the front and the long tube headers will not fit with the ground clearance left.

I don't know what it is, but I have a good 4 inches of fenderwell gap and that is with 245/50/16's with fresh tread. I don't know if TA's or non WS6's sit lower, but it seems like I have tons of room. Thanks for the response, does anyone else have an opinion on this? I hate that fenderwell gap, but I'm not gonna blow 500 bucks on a set of shorties that will not maximize your performance.
