cat converter
im just wondering if anyone knows if a straight pipe is better than having a high flow cat. i have a 92 3.1 and i cut the stock cat out and replaced the gap with a straight pipe. its nice this way but no matter what i do to my exhaust it still sounds like it has leaks, i put in aftermarket manifold gaskets. and my straight pipe is tight, i dont kow whats causing it

Just cut the cat off, it's usually easier that way rather than trying to mess with taking the bolts off and all. The best way to go is to weld it, but a clamp will do just fine as long as you make it tight.

i had a hard time taking off my cat, finally had to air hammer it apart, and it was only on there for 1 year, however, it didnt improve performance, because i was running open exhaust, and lost what little backpressure i had for bottom end torque, plus my car sounds like a tractor now
